The Bluebell Polka
An early walk in Keil's Den this morning with Jess, Molly and Auntie B. The Den is in full bloom at the moment with wild garlic, primula, cowslips and of course the beautiful bluebells. I'm reliably informed by Mrs Holly that these bluebells are the English variety as opposed to the Spanish - the Spanish holding the bells slightly higher.
I captured Jess and Molly running through the bluebells and I was reminded of a son of Fife - Sir Jimmy Shand (1908-2000) a famous, prolific and much love musician born not too far from here in East Wemyss. Jimmy Shand's signature tune was "The Bluebell Polka" and so a toast to Sir Jimmy Shand!
