Summer in our garden
I know it's officially been Springtime for a while but, apart from a glorious March, it's been a dreadful year so far for the weather! On the bright side, we've not been snowed in (apologies to the Scots and Geordies!), flooded or had a plague of locusts.
This is the Clematis, Montana, that runs around our garden. Couldn't get it all in from the bedroom window but it always makes us think it's really the start of Summer when it comes out.
Behind the clematis there's another garden with arches through the clematis to get to it. There are paths that are in a number '3' shape, it's like our secret garden with bushes, a copper beech, mayflower tree (hawthorn that also blossoms in May), holly tree and a baby apple tree. We did have a large Eucalypt but it died in the 2010/2011 winter so we cut it down and use it for logs on the fire pit in the evenings. We planted the apple in it's place.
