Great Falls on the Potomac River

My husband is a big proponent of exercise even when sick.  I am still feeling quite peaked, but at his encouragement, I accompanied him this morning during his run.  I didn’t walk my usual distance but instead concentrated on getting some shots of the falls.  

The days of rain that we had last week and over the last two days are quite evident in the rapid flow of the river over the falls.  This image is taken from Olmsted Island, Potomac Maryland looking across to Virginia.  

It is a 0.4 second exposure, and hopefully it gives you a sense of how fast the water is moving and how turbulent and muddy it is.  Try it in large, too.
