Jade's First Christmas

Our Christmas this year saw some changes happen.  It was the first year Lorraine's Mum didn't join us.  Lorraine and I accompanied her to the Church Service at her lodge.  Whilst the organisation of this was somewhat lacking I really enjoyed singing carols next to another woman who struggles with dementia.  She sang with much enthusiasm whilst Mum decided to nod off a couple of times.

We then had presents with Mum with the rest of the family joining us.  It worked out well but it was hard for Lorraine to realise that another stage had been reached in her mum's decline.  The two staff on duty were very special so that made it easier.

It was then across to our daughter's where we, like a lot of others, enjoyed plenty of good food and wine plus the sharing of gifts.

It was Jade's first Christmas which was special.  She loves to party so was exhausted by this evening but still did not want to sleep!

Hope you all had an enjoyable day too but  I know for many Christmas can be difficult - peace be with you.
