Elephant seal weaner

After a short 10 minute hop by Islander we were on Sea Lion Island, just to the south of Bleaker. We arrived in good time for lunch and a leisurely walk around the island, to view the plentiful wildlife. As usual we finished off with a walk to the beach to watch the penguins land. There was a biting cold wind and the penguins didn't seem to be landing close to us. In addition, the sun was very milky, not making for good photos. But in the end, three weaner seals stole the show by slowly creeping up the beach towards us. With me being prostrate on the sand I had to be prepared to run if they got too curious ! Fortunately they kept their distance !
