Bridge Telegraph Head

The Leersum Dutch cargo ship was built by a Sunderland ship building company. It struck a mine off Filey Brigg ten days after the Scarborough bombardment (16.12.1914) and sank with the loss of two of the nineteen crew. This is the bridge telegraph head recovered from the wreck and now on display at Scarborough Art Gallery.
