Life in the City, Johannesburg

I am fortunate enough to be staying in a friends cottage while I'm in SA. It's the only small holding left right in the middle of a suburb. The neighbours have been known to complain about the cocks crowing at sparrow chirp, but he has agricultural rights so they can do nothing about trying to get rid of the sounds of nature! I enjoy waking to the gobble of the turkey, the screeching (??) of the peacock and the cocks crowing outside my window! And the local mall is a block away - perfect - being in the bush with shops close at hand! More of all the animals here.
