The Day After

Thank you so very, very much for your reaction to my 730 blip. You're such a great bunch of people. In particular, I'd like to thank MrJohn who not only took my imitation in good humour, but went one step further.

The day after was always going to be a bit of a let down different.  I didn't do much.  I had the moment I had every Christmas where I dwell on what I don't have rather than what I do have. I'd like to thank S and BN for a lovely meal and the reminder that I may not have much by way of family but I have some excellent friends.  Turns out I'm pretty fortunate after all!

If I needed further reminding, late on in the day I heard about the terrible tragedy in Glasgow. Just over a year since the Clutha, Glasgow certainly didn't need another disaster so close to the holidays.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Glasgow.  I know Glaswegians have big hearts - I just wish it didn't have to be tested.

If you need a friend...

PS For those of you not familiar with the names Gretzky and Messier, they were a legendary pairing of hockey players at my home town team.  They helped win four Stanley Cups, and Messier helped the team win a fifth.  These names are close to my heart.
