Ducks on Ice

Just like humans have to adjust to Winter walking...so do ducks. We shorten our stride, and kind of tippy-toe on the slick stuff. Ducks shorten their waddle, and try to do less quacking, although I did see at least 3 duck wipe-outs. KER-PLUNK!!!

The pond is getting smaller. The ducks have less open water to pick from. I watched them for about 20 minutes, but it was cold enough out (25F), that I couldn't stay out for long.

I didn't purposely shoot all males, but I just didn't get a good picture of any of the females.

Duck green...the best green in nature.
