Winter Solstice Daffodils

I spotted daffodils on the ring road in Yeovil today and then here were these little blooms smiling at me in Porlock on Exmoor. It was a joy to see them, though so very early.
A little brightness in a difficult day. We went to see our friends Jean and Jeff. Jean is now very poorly but very brave and we had a good talk. We took them some lunch which I'd prepared and that was fortuitous as they had been very unlucky yesterday when a van carrying 2000 pheasants crashed into their car outside their cottage on Porlock Hill when its brakes failed. Luckily no one was hurt but their car is a write off.
