Palma: gnarled olive

This is another addition to my collection of gnarled tree trunks: this is the best example so far.

A quick orientation of Palma this afternoon with lots of interesting architecture to take in, and the ambience to absorb, but we had to push on - first on the narrow gauge railway (see the time machines lined up here) and then by tram, for Puerto de Soller and the start of a week's trekking in the Tramontana mountains.

Although the evening was calm and there was a stunning sunset, the clouds seemed to suggest that a storm might be on its way...

Catching up with all your journals and uploading pictures from my trip may be a slow process but I promise I'll do my best over the next week or so...
