Feed the Birds

A bright, mild day.

A busy morning started with an appointment with the Nurse - an annual heart check up! We then saw my son and his family off to the Airport for their trip to New Zealand. Surprisingly, the grandchildren were quite calm about it all. I then had my 'Christmas haircut' - you know, the one where I have it whether I need it or not! Lots of other men and boys had the same idea - so there was quite a queue. Some of you might be thinking - why not go to a hairdresser where you can make an appointment. One simple reason - it costs £5 for a senior citizen, and the result is quite satisfactory.

After lunch, I went out for a short drive round our country roads and came across this farmer ploughing his field. What attracted me was the dozens of birds having a free feed. It was like a ballet in the sky. Every time the tractor got to the edge of the field the birds would swoop up in unison, whirl round and were ready for the tractor to make the pass in the opposite direction. It was beautiful to watch.
