The Shore
After reading a book to Ethan last night about going on an aeroplane, today was the big day!
We had stayed overnight at a hotel at Glasgow Airport as we felt it would make the silly o'clock start slightly easier to handle. Didn't manage to get Ethan off to sleep till after 10pm though so he ended up only having 7 hours sleep last night and was very grumpy when we had to wake him up! He soon perked up, going on the courtesy bus though and loved riding on his Trunki through the airport.
He was much better behaved on the plane than we expected though. And he LOVED take off - he had a huge grin on his face at that point! About half way through the flight he did hook up with some other toddlers round about his age though and they played together in the aisles. I think we were lucky that the flight was full of parents with kids similar ages, and retired couples who seemed happy to help entertain the kids too.
He was excited again to be going on the "big blue bus" once we arrived in Majorca, which was taking us to our hotel. It's the first time I've been glad we were the last drop off, as he fell asleep on the bus on the way there, so it enabled him to have a nice long nap.
The hotel seems really nice and the room we have been allocated has an amazing sea view. It's a corner room with a massive balcony too - I think we've done well with the location! There are 5 swimming pools here so we headed straight for the kids one with all the slides, so Ethan could check it out. The water is freezing though which has put him off going on the slides - I can't blame him as I was shivering a bit too!
We also took a wander down to the beach tonight. It looks really beaautiful and I can't wait to go on it with Ethan in the daytime for a bit of sandcastle building.
