Summer solstice mandala

The shortest day marks the annual harvest of garlic and this year, these regally purple Spring Onions .
They are layed out on the beautiful platter that Tarawera Times clever husband Ian crafted for me ( for a significant birthday) from a French wine barrel top.
The garlic will be laid out to dry on our deck and ready to plait and hang come February.
