The longest night

In the solstice night,
Between gilded mirror and door,
Tiny lights shine.

... the longest night or shortest day depending on your point of view ....
since both children, having returned to the family nest, had flown it again for a couple of days... thought I'd make the most of it and wrap the presents.  Possibly the first time I have done this before Christmas Eve for years .... feeling quite proud!  Then a quick blast up on the Ashdown Forest with a very excited spaniel (aka Sadie) who had given up on a decent walk and couldn't believe her luck.  

Mark bravely went shopping and filled the kitchen with bags of food quite a lot of which had to somehow find it's way into the fridge .... so I cleared space by chucking out things from the shelves which should have been chucked long ago ... and even cleaned the fridge.

It's amazing what you can get done when not at work!
