Clematis cirrhosa 'Freckles'

Such a delicate flower it's surprising it survives the worst of the wintry weather, but it does. Flowering for a few weeks already; the picture on page 172 in my book was taken not far from this specimen. Unfortunately the owner has cut down the ordinary Clematis cirrhosa without its freckles.
I am going to try and photograph a different Clematis each month during 2015.
