St Michael and All Angels, Princetown, Dartmoor

This church is no longer used and is maintained by theParochial Church Council. It contains headstones and memorials to more than 1000 individuals who have been laid to rest in the shadow of Princetown's prisoner of war church.
Before 1910 all the prisoners who died whilst at Dartmoor prison were buried anonymously. A large granite cross in the churchyard was carved by prisoners for all the unnamed prisoners buried here.
