Yellow and Green

Life on the water today. I took a kayak ride with Naturelover, known to me as Shelley with 2 e's. Last week I went by a lake called Tipsico, and saw 17 swans. I counted. Today? 6, and they didn't want to pose. I so swanted to see some swans and some little swanettes. Not to be.

It was still a pleasant ride. Nice and quiet. Only bird sounds pierced the silence.

Yesterday I went on a kayak ride with my dad. I let him ride in my new one...which is still unnamed. I settled into Melican, the Pelican. As soon as I hit the water...my leg started getting wet. A small screw from the outside of the boat into the foot supports was missing. Water was flowing into the boat like a small faucet. We didn't go far. Before too long, I had a wet butt, and wet socks and shoes.

I stopped at a hardware store, and got the needed hardware. I made Shelley take that one...just in case the repair didn't work. It worked. No water on the inside.

Shelley informed me that this flower on the left is not a water lily, but I'm still going to say it is. The other flower is in her front yard. This is also her froggie. I wanted to put it on in full size, but there is no way I'm going up against the frog she put up a few days ago. Her picture was a thing of beauty.

A good day. A little exercise, a lot of sun, and good conversation. A lot of you blippers were mentioned. Only in a good way, of course.
