Stocking up

I've had a really lazy day today, as I was feeling a bit under the weather.

I popped up to see my sister and deliver her Christmas cake and presents etc, and then I came back home to stay warm and try and get rid of the nasty cough.

My brother had told me about a TV programme on the internet which dealt with the experiences of UK prisoners of war in the Second World War. My father was captured in the Battle for Crete and spent most of the war years in POW camps, culminating in the long march. That was the focus of the three programmes in the series.  It was harrowing to see what had been my father's experiences.  He didn't speak of it, quite understandably.  He wouldn't play cards when I was a child, even though he was very good at it.  I really understood now that he had had enough of playing cards in those terrible years.

I'm glad I watched the programmes..... Even though it made  me quite emotional.

And the jays came so that I could capture a blip without going too far from home.
