21 December – Summer solstice

I don't normally water the garden in such an exuberant manner – but as the sunset has proven to be not as spectacular as I'd hoped for, this is my little bit of 'A day in the life of daylight' for 21 December. It's tank (rain) water, by the way, and my tanks are still full, so I don't feel too guilty about splashing it around so much.

So tomorrow I can say "the nights are drawing in", even though for those of us in Victoria, the summer has only just begun and doesn't really get going until January/February, when we can get those 40º+ days.
