The Library in a Gingerbread Castle
This afternoon we went to Leeds Castle to see the castle decorated for Christmas and visit the Christmas Fair.
The castle was very well decorated, with trees and decorations adapted to the colour and style of each room. Perhaps some lighting would have emphasised the sparkly effects more.
The highlight undoubtedly was this gingerbread castle, made out og 60kg of gingerbread dough and decorated using fondent icing to represent a selection of the castle rooms - this is the library and was about 1 foot by 2 feet in size. Quite brilliant, the whole structure was about 6 by 4 feet and was going to be auctioned off after Christmas.
After visiting the fair it was off home and then out again for a late afternoon walk on which we passed the 1000 mile mark for the walking challenge we'd set ourselves for this year. There's still 11 days to go too.
