Free as a bird

Lovely afternoon so we had a walk along the beach and stopped at the Waimea for tea and scone on the way back. Took my camera and had a few to share but settled for this photo as I’ve not really tried to capture birds in flight, but I love the way the sunlight surrounds the seagull - not sure what type of gull it is.
