Day 20

When we got up this morning we found a letter from the elf saying she had been spying on my conversation with my old flatmate and knew about my plans for us all to go to the theatre we used to work together in to see Peter Pan the ballet. The elf wanted to come too and had wings sellotaped to her back! (She also asked if we could turn the oranges around so she could eat the chocolate she had stolen from the tree!).

Midget asked if Merry could come too, "look the chocolate looks like pixie dust!" We agreed as long as we kept her safe, so we all set off! (The chocolate was later scoffed by Midget)

Lunch at Nandos, we listened to a random choir sing "Ilkla Moor Baht 'at", then wandered up to the theatre. Midget was enthralled by the ballet, NBT are sublime so it was no surprise! My favourite bit though was when Peter Pan asked us if we believed in fairies, as the audience all yelled "yes!" a little voice (not Midget's) from the middle of the stalls piped up "no." There were a few giggling grown ups after that!

Because we have friends in high places (my old flatmate still works there) we snuck back in the auditorium for a picture! It's not a great one but my knee was not happy at all about having had a 'small' child sat on it for the previous two hours so I embraced speed!

It was dark on our drive back and the child was convinced it must be past her bedtime! She didn't believe us that it had barely got to teatime!
