A fiddly day...
Thought it might be helpful for you to see the work desk as all this close up work hides the clutter of a tip I have to work in. Even this pic has been closely cropped to disguise stuff better not seen. I'm using the iPhone 6 because the small flash is very good and the Sony? camera gives extraordinarily good results. No wonder the big camera manufacturers are suffering falling sales with mobiles giving quality that only half a decade ago you'd pay £150+ for.
Anyway, what's on the desk… Let me talk you through the items.
There are some obvious items used in modelling, tapes, paints etc. You may wonder about the grim looking bowl? Well that holds a flannel that soaks up water so that I can dip in the waterside decals and they don't float off. If that happens the glue on the decal quickly dissolves in the water and when you pick it out it wraps around your fingers. Cue - foul language. (Moi?). The computer is used to look closely at pics of the real thing and of the model. Helps with correcting mistakes. You can see the newly printed decal strips - I did the artwork this morning. There's a paintbrush lying on a plastic sheet on the cutting mat. I use this sheet to mix paints and drop superglue. Superglue is easily handled on the tip of a cherry stick if you can dab it from a safe surface. Metal rulers cut plastic and paper better than plastic rulers and don't get chipped. The two hard drives in the background contain about 300,000 bus photographs and transport references (and about 150,000 travel, family and holiday photos).
Hope you're still finding these photos of 'what I did today' of interest. If yes, I'll keep this thread going until this model is finished.
