It's Grim Up North

Low Noon

A few minutes of low sunlight at noon, on the dog walk.

Tree in place: fairy, lights, tinsel, gold pine cones, but lacking balls, if you know what I mean. So of to Lakeland tomorrow (mecca of plastic, disposable consumerism) for new glass tree baubles.

Christmas cards attached to rickety metal snowflake on wall. (They tend to fall off the snowflake onto dog's head which makes him fly off the sofa in shock.) Overflow cards on the bookshelves.

Candles on the window ledges to burn at night.

Off to ex-husband's and his wife's house tonight for supper so possibly Christmas is about to begin?

Christmas is OK but it has to be low key, for me.
