Discarded

Every corner tells a tale. For this one in George IV Bridge, a can of Cola makes quite a change from the usual discarded bottle of Buckfast or empty spirits bottle.

I imagine the froth in the foreground comes from the fast opening of the can, at least that's what I'm hoping. The alternative which springs to mind, is too gross to contemplate.
I see also see on the ground what in the vernacular could be described as a 'dod' of old chewing gum and some other thing which is hard to identify.
Discarded chewing gum is the scourge of the city's streets, but that is a rant which can wait.

We sashayed past this corner down to Princes Street to buy some Brussel Sprouts which our local Sainsbury's, much given over to the requirements of the student fraternity, deems unnecessary stock.

A coffee in M&S was served at the speed of an advancing glacier as was the customer service later in the Post Office.
Christmas in on a different timescale, but my patience has not adjusted to it as yet.

On a positive note, it is a sunny day, not too cold and the vacuum cleaner worked well when I got home!
