No this is not a mistake, or a photo taken by Paladian! We were looking at a property at Brownhill Creek today when this Monarch crossed my path. I had my camera with me and so I quickly I grabbed a few shots of it. Some days you can be lucky.

The Monarch butterfly, Danaus plexippus, is one of Australia’s best-known exotic butterflies, being first recorded here in the spring/summer of 1870/71. However, the source and entry pathway of the original population is unknown.

It was taken with my regular 24-105 zoom lens, not normally the lens for doing this type of shot. However the 100mm prime never seems to leave Paladian's camera these days!
