Serious Request ...

This is the Grote Markt in Haarlem, the proud host city of 3FM Serious Request. This is a media event for years to draw attention to the silent disasters in the world.

Some DJs leave voluntarily lock themselves for several days in a glass house. They present continuous music that can be requested by the public. The remarkable thing is that all days that they are "locked up" in the glass house, don't eat. It's intended that as much money as possible for a good cause is collected.

The edition of Serious Request this year is dedicated to girls and women in conflict areas who are victims of sexual violence.

The millions of women who affects it, should be given a voice. The Red Cross brings - as much as possible - money together for the reception and care for women with trauma through sexual violence.

From 18 to 24 December 3FM Serious Request media event helps them in Haarlem. On the Grote Markt, which is found in Haarlem Netherlands most beautiful square.
