Oh Christmas Tree

There was an appeal in Stokesley, a town of about 6,000 inhabitants, to raise money to buy new lights for the Christmas tree on the Green. This is the tree around which carols will be sung on Monday evening. The aim was to raise £500 but nearly £1000 was achieved.

When I passed the tree this afternoon, just as the light was fading, the lights had almost been installed.
