California Brown Pelican at Native Animal Rescue

Two days ago this California Brown Pelican was rescued on a beach in Santa Cruz County and brought to Native Animal Rescue. Several pelicans were rescued over the last few days after being tossed around by the recent storms. This one is still being tube fed; the others are able to feed themselves. In a few days the three pelicans currently being treated at Native Animal Rescue will be transported to the International Bird Rescue Center where their rehabilitation will continue until they are healthy enough to be released back into the wild..
