First day of holidays

Soo relaxing well until this afternoon but I'll get to that.

This morning it was so nice just to let the boys stay in their pj's and let them watch tv. They watched a Thomas the tank engine movie while I had coffee and cleaned up.

I got them dressed afterwards and they just did their own thing - playing with cars or Lego or going outside to play.

Late afternoon they started getting a bit scratchy and started fighting and getting in each other faces on purpose. This drives me crazy. And when their not fighting their grumpy at me. Kanye shouts and wails, Marley stomps his feet and whines and cries and Harper? Well he's learnt to copy his brothers.

My beautiful one year old can throw a tantrum and scream- not squeal- scream when he doesn't get his way.

I wasn't about to try an activity with them i know they're still tired and winding down from school. First week in and out of routine tends to be a bit of a challenge too.

So anyway after trying to placate them with food and TV and attention i thought maybe they could do with something they like that isn't difficult for them but would tire them out.

I got their paddling pool out and blew it up, well I tried to anyways. After about 10 minutes i soon realized my efforts were useless. It must have a few holes in it.

I scrambled for a solution as all 3 boys stood watching in their swimming shorts looking like they were about to cry. A light bulb lit up! Just down the road at the park is a council run public kids paddling pool. Haha yes problem solved.

So a near meltdown turned in to excited giggles as we walked towards the park.

I snapped these pics as i realized it was Harpers first time in a swimming pool! !

He absolutely loved it as did the other boys though one lady annoyed the experience for me as she was sitting with her feet in the pool and my boys were having a great time she told Kanye off for splashing saying she didn't want to get wet. I explained that he didn't understand and was intellectually disabled but as I thought about it on my way home i thought it was kind of rude to tell a child off -disabled or not- for doing what every kid does at a kids pool; splash. I thought if she didn't want to get wet then she shouldn't have sat there. And he wasn't making big splashes he was sitting in the pool slapping the water.

I'm not a confrontational type of person so it was me who apologized to her but I actually felt she was in the wrong and that wasn't cool at all.

We stayed for a bit then came home. They all crashed and lay about watching TV until Andre got home.

Was a beautiful day all in all! Looking forward to the weekend!
