Alan, Ed and I went on a very special visit this morning to the Craighalbert Centre in Cumbernauld.

We were on a very special mission as Alan had been asked to present a very generous donation on behalf of Fat Dads on Bikes .

It's a while since Alan visited the Centre (he attended there from age 7 months - 6 years and I worked there for 13 years till we moved two years ago) so he was very excited, especially as it was his support worker Ed's first visit.

As ever we were made very welcome (thank you for everything Anne, especially the coffee and the mince pies! ;-)) and were given a tour to let us see all the new things that had been happening since we were last there (massive trampoline, new sensory room, both amazing!)

Alan was so happy to see some of the "old faces"  staff who were there when he was.  I think they were shocked to see this young man as opposed to the boy they knew.  

But it wasn't just the old faces who caught his attention, oh no!  A certain young lady took a definite shine to him as you can see!  He was a bit taken aback at first but it didn't take him long to get used to her affections!!!  The rest of the photos are just as hilarious :-)))

All too soon it was time to head home but not before we had a quick drive up our old street.  It's the first time I've been back since we moved two and a half years ago.  Felt a little emotional seeing the house but the overall emotion was relief that we're not there anymore.  So much happier and settled now.

Anyway, many many thanks LeeAnne for organising the very generous donation.  The Craighalbert Centre provides such an excellent service to young people with motor impairments like cerebral palsy and is very dear to our hearts.

There is a fabulous outdoor classroom that the children love but a few weeks ago it was targeted by vandals over the course of a few days and much of it was destroyed.  Heartbreaking and i can only hope that Karma will catch up with the mindless thugs that did it.  Anyhoo, your generous donation will certainly help restore it.  Thank you so much.  xxx
