Twist and shout

With Christmas around the corner I 'treated' my Aldi students to a new version of scrabble (look forward to introducing the parents to it tomorrow) in English of course, I was shocked that no rude words appeared and at how very determined to win they all were.

Meanwhile my morning fun was driving to and from the customs and excise department (an hour's round trip) to pick up and pay excise on something for Little miss bossy (the internet is responsible for expanding her shopping horizons) This is all well and good, however, if they had a suggestion box here's what I would say*

- tell the recipient who the parcel is from, some of us buy more than one item from outside of Germany (rebel, rebel) because before they release the goodies you have to provide proof of payment**
- smile, it costs nothing
- have an occupied/unoccupied light/sign above solid wooden doors that people have to wait outside of

* but auf Deutsch clearly...
** which is understandable in a country where it's possible to pay cash on delivery
