Leaving Hawaii :(

This photo is taken from the plane as we were ready to fly home. The flags are the US Flag and Hawaii Flag. You can see the haziness in the hills .... it is vog, which is caused by the volcano that continues to erupt. The lava flow is moving over roads and homes at 150 ft a day. The is an incline up a hill in the path of the present flow, so they are hoping that will stop its progress. I wonder what will keep it from simply turning and continuing whichever way would have the least resistance. I will be watching the Hawaii news to see what happens. 

I usually am anxious to get home, but I wasn't ready to leave Hawaii this time. BUT now that I am home I realize I am way behind in getting ready for Christmas. I never thought about those preparations until we walked in the door at home.
I finished our photo Christmas cards and got them ordered. I finished one of the six photo books I want to have ready for Christmas. Opps....I just read that the deadline for having the books ordered is TODAY if I want delivery guaranteed by Christmas. My grandchildren may have to get an IOU and a late present. I will probably buy them something too expensive to make up for being late. I wanted to keep this Christmas more meaningful and less about expensive gifts. Oh well, I refuse to worry about it. Costco may get them done sooner.....I hope....because I am planning on getting them ordered by tomorrow!!!
