is very soft today. (It would appear to take three men with forks to establish but I guess there is a heath and safety as well as an economic issue.)

Horse racing is something that I feel very uncomfortable about. It is my opinion that making a group of herd 'prey' animals who don't know each other and making them run for their lives does not seem to be a very friendly thing to do. I am not convinced when people say the horses 'love' it. Other aspects of the industry are unattractive, too.
