New bridge

We've been waiting for this for 8 months now.

Back in April our bridge was washed away. According to the map we got 26" of rain in 24 hours, and the local swamp caught a lot of it, which then flooded out our little bridge and road. 

Ever since there has been an argument over who is paying the $1.2m bill to replace it. Eventually, 7 months later the politicians played a game of musical budgets, and when the music stopped, someone got the bill.

Interestingly they only started on the new bridge maybe two days ago, yet they have filled in all the washed away dirt and now just need to put the top layers on, plus a bit of wall. At this rate it'll be done within the next couple of weeks - which will be nice.
