The Nutcracker Suite

Our local children's dance school teamed with the MSU Dance Troupe for a performance of the Nutcracker. Despite a few technical difficulties and some dancing hiccups, the performance was fantastic. The audience cheered loudly, and little dancers could barely restrain themselves from winking at their grandparents.

As the dance school is short on boys, young male gymnasts were asked to perform. They had an out-of-town competition, and were running late driving back. To break up the 15 minutes of waiting past the original beginning time, we all first  bowed our heads in a longish prayer, then stood up for the singing of the National Anthem. Everybody was a tad disoriented, as neither typically takes place in the theater. :-)
