nativity scene symbol of love

God is love. He loved us so much He sent His Son Jesus to dwell with us - hence our Christmas celebrations. The story is so familiar...but do we really get it?
I think God gave us our animals so that we might get a hint of what His unconditional love is really like. You know how your pets love you, no matter what!
This shepherd is my favorite piece of my nativity set, because of the sheep. I know they weren't pets, but they loved their shepherd!
And our Shepherd loves us.
