Ponte Vechio

Kyre gave me a ride into Castelfiorintino, the nearest town this morning to catch the train into Florence. Today is my big midterm exam day for the much loathed statistics class I have been taking online as a prerequisite to begin my doctoral studies later this year.

I tried not to waste a single moment to study and found a cafe near my proctor area in the center, the American Language Institute. In between Italian espresso's and a chocolate croissant I had to study p-values and regression analysis. What a contrast, what a waste of Italy!

But I took my exam and did OK. It felt like a huge monkey off my back and I found I still had the afternoon to explore Florence. I wandered old alleyways down to the River Arno that splits Florence in two. I snapped this shot on the famous bridge walkway, the Ponte Vechio. And I treated myself to pizza and the best gelato I've ever had by the bridge of Santa Trinita.
