One of our lecturers recommended we watch this film as we've been learning about cryptography. Being the dutiful and interested students that we are we decided to heed his advice.
It was a fascinating film looking at how Alan Turing and his Turing Machine cracked the Enigma code which allowed to war to end up to 2 years sooner than it would have done otherwise. The story was incredibly harrowing, however, with Turing taking his own life after being made to undergo hormone therapy to "cure" his homosexuality. It makes you wonder what aspects of society today will be looked back on with shame and incredulity.
