The Wipeout
I'll make the description of this horrific, but inevitably funny crash short. I'm in the lead after a descent of a few thousand feet from Larch Mountain. With a good flow I cross the bridge realizing quickly its slippery when wet. To test my theory I tap the rear brake at the end of the bridge and sure enough my tires slide out. As i stop in the safety of the dirt I turn around to shout to Tim about the slick crossing he is tapping his brakes causing a complete bike slip to a full on stomach slide to an eventual over the bridge and out of site crash! I yell for him and get a response. He has landed on his back in a relatively soft spot over 4 feet down, missing the cold creek, a rock and a large downed tree. Someone was looking out for him. After a check for all body parts and a few adjustments of the bike I fish his glasses out of the creek and we continue our descent.
Now I have been given the job of naming the crash. I'll be coming up with something to define the slip and slide that was today's ride.
