B.A.C.K. to Basics

Red Light, Green Light

After winning tonights game (7-3) against the Tigers, Coach Doug took the team out for ice creams. The parents were circled up discussing the game, when someone noticed all the kids run - then stop. A friendly game of Red light, Green light had begun, siblings included, ice creams in hand.

I quickly grabbed my point-n-shoot from the car to capture the innocence of the moment. This team of 6,7 & 8 year olds play as well off the field as they do on. No parental prompting or intervention - they just started playing. I loved hearing the giggles as they froze and the delighted screams as they reached Katie.

They played a four rounds before parents were ready to head home and broke up the group. It's moments like this that make the running around and late night meals all worth it.
