The Goit

It took a very clever lady from Liverpool to draw my attention to this peculiar stream winding its way over and under Nelson. Tonight I went to the gym and the caretaker there told me the area is known as 'Goitside'. Apparently its proper name is Walverden Water. It's full of weeds and rubbish, but the Victorian cobbles and busy wildlife give it a sort of wistful feel.

What I haven't captured very well is the built up, urban landscape under which The Goit is hiding. The image here makes it look quite lush and green. So there's a little blip problem for me to try and solve with future pics.
