St Martins Church, Ryarsh, Kent
Today's photograph, as it's a Sunday, is of St. Martins Church in the Kent village of Ryarsh.
I was there as one of my customers was attending a service at the church. This is not in my part of Kent so know nothing of the history of the church. Looking at it from the outside it appeared to have had a 'couple' of extensions added to it but they had been done to try in keeping with the original stonework.
Although I said it is in the village of Ryarsh it is in fact about a mile or so outside of the village. Perhaps built by the 'Lord of the Manor' close to his house while the peasants had to walk to church. Then again the church stands in the 'Parish of Ryarsh' so it may well have reflected the area rather than the village.
