In the Morning Sun
Pheasant Eye Narcissus basking in the early morning sun. I wasn't sure what time I would be back today or if the sun would be replaced by the forecast rain, so before 7.00 I was in the garden blipping various plants in the sun.
Apparently also known as Poet's Daffodil (Narcissus poeticus). This perfumed narcissus has also been recognized as the flower that Persephone and her companions were gathering when Hades abducted her into the Underworld.
I think that they are wonderfully fragrant and with a ring of petals in pure white and a short corona of light yellow with a distinct reddish edge they are beautiful. It is just a shame we don't have more of these in the garden.
