Push the Button

Another bus blip - went for a long walk in Bushey Park late this afternoon, and came across a routemaster bus by the Hampton Gate, covered in bunting. After yesterday's bus thing at Fulwell Garage, and the fact that it was Chestnut Sunday, we all assumed that it was okay to just pile on. Only when we were on the top deck did we get told that it was actually there on a private hire and they were expecting their party back any moment. I then noticed several pieces of luggage and some children's toys on the seats.

I had time though, to take a photo of one of the beautiful buttons that I used to love to press when I was small. Any journey on the bus with my mum (and there were hundreds) was spent with me with my eyes glued to the button, resisting it's instruction - Push Once - and waiting for Mum to give me the nod so I could press it. I can remember so clearly he satisfying feeling under my fingers as I pushed, and the flat plinking noise it made.

Had a lovely day. Walked to the shops in the sunshine with Betsy to get stuff for a roast dinner, having a lovely chat all the while. Came home, and while Chris cooked, Al and I played games; Hogwarts, Pass the Bomb, Labrynth, Boggle, Cranium, Tiddlywinks, Snakes and Ladders.

After a late lunch we went to the park for a long walk. It was lovely and sunny and we went to the Water Gardens which Chris had never been inside before. Came home and watched last night's The Voice.
