Walk the Wight

Today was the day thousands of people set out to walk the wight over the hills and coutryside in aid of the Local Hospice, Up to 10,000 people sign up and have sponsers for them to do all or part of the walk, each walker receives a medal when they have reached their destination.
Bembridge to the Needles (Alum Bay) 26.5 miles
Bembridge to Carisbrooke 12.5 miles
Carisbrooke to Needles (Alum Bay) 14miles
The walk is Marshalled and signalled throughout the walk, 6 toilet stops, 8 water stops.
The weather today was just perfect, sunny with a breeze, I have walked the wight before but this year I opted to play in the Samba band at Freshwater Bay to greet the tired walkers on their last stretch to the finish, we played for 3 hours, it was fun, as you can see in the distance a continuous trail of people coming down Afton Down to Freshwater Bay where we were, they then have another climb up to Tennyson Down then down to Alum Bay (approx 4miles).
Oh my visitors went home this evening, lovely to have them but......;-)
