Flying Kites

A lovely morning spent with the girls and Annie's stepmum at Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital. Lovely to see the ducklings, goslings, baby birds and squirrels being hand-reared having been rescued. One set of chicks was smaller than we could ever imagine surviving - incredible.

They have a new Red Kite area where they can care for these amazing birds which have become a common sight now in this area. At feeding time, around ten wild Red Kites began circling over the aviary, in the hope of some scraps. The keeper told us they are kites that have been released from the hospital and still remember feeding time! Here's a photo of one of the ten, taken by Chris.
