big aaahhhhh..

Found this cute little person - one of 8 - by the lake at Stourhead where we stopped for lunch on our way back from Devon. They really were the most gorgeous family imaginable. Daddy swan was busy chasing the geese away and getting very cross and hissy with them, while Mum rested with her chicks on the bank, then took them for a gentle swim.

One of the garden volunteers told me that last year this pair lost all their cygnets - obviously this year they were being extra careful!
