A hint of mist

It is a beautiful morning at Stourhead this morning. We woke early and walked partway round the lake, the light was quite good for photography for the first quarter of an hour or so, then the heavy contrast started to kick in.

After dinner last night we dared ourselves to do the moonlight walk around the lake, so armed with two torches we set off, it was very dark, and the wildlife was very jumpy making us start at times. The grotto in the dark is an experience, the statues forming ghostly images in the torch light. The view from the far end of the lake looking back to the village with its few lights and a star filled sky was a picture, pity I had left the camera in our room.

Todays blip is the view of the lake and temple at 6.45a.m. this morning, with just a hint of mist over the water.
